This shot is from the freshwater marsh out back of Blue Sawtooth.  Typically you see these large birds in open pasture where they can see predators from afar, and the bugs are plentiful (from the livestock) and easy to get to.  I like the natural and unusual aspect of this piece, and it gives me an opportunity to make a really bad pun, my favorite thing to do...I'm guessing it was after a frog or crayfish...
