Roseate Spoonbill

Shell pink with a deep carmine drip along their shoulder, the spoonbill rhythmically swings the bill from side to side to filter out killifish, prawns, and other small creatures.  They live in mangrove marshes, and feed on marl flats, like these along Black Point Drive at the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge.  One wag suggested that this picture reminded her of her office -- no matter the subject, everyone working there had a different opinon.
